Before Restoration
This large red steel sculpture serves as the centrepiece arrival feature for residents and visitors at a condominium on Orchard Road. Over time, the original paintwork had suffered significant paint loss and fading — a consequence of prolonged sun and rain exposure, compounded by poor-quality paint used in the original finish. Chipping was particularly pronounced along the edges of the sculpture. As the close-up images show, large areas of the surface had faded to pink, with patches of bare metal exposed throughout. The MCST, in conjunction with residents, engaged us to strip the sculpture and return it to its original vivid condition.
After Restoration
The original paintwork was completely stripped without the use of any loud tools, minimising disturbance to residents during the process. The sculpture was then repainted using colour-matched paints specially formulated for outdoor use, with additional protective coats applied to prolong the lifespan of the finish against Singapore's climate. The vivid red is fully restored — the sculpture once again commanding its position as the arrival centrepiece of the condominium.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the truly excellent service and quality of work. Our residents are delighted with the end results.
Mr Foo, MCST
