Before Restoration
This oil on canvas is by noted Australian artist Adam Cullen and carries significant value. A large impact tear had occurred on the lower left of the canvas, visible from both the front and reverse of the work. The canvas fibres had separated fully in places, putting the paint layer directly at risk. The client came to us seeking the best possible outcome for a work of this importance.
After Restoration
Through careful canvas consolidation and relining, we fully stabilised the torn area and restored the surface to its original integrity. The repair was carried out invisibly — the reverse of the canvas shows the clean, stable lining, while the front retains all the energy and character of Cullen's original paint layer.
